Search on CAS-number
In this option the list of CAS-numbers (left column) and names (right column) is presented. Default the list of CAS-numbers is ordered from low to high.
Scrolling through the list
By placing the cursor anywhere in the list, it gives focus to a substance. In this way the substance is selected and the information about available OEL's en Sampling Methods is to be viewed. It is also possible to scroll through the list. The selected substance changes accordingly
Search via text box
The CAS number consists of three groups of digits. The lowest 'number' in the first group is 50. Enter two or more digits of 50 or higher in the text box 'Search by CAS number'. The arrow in the left column (the focus) stops at the first CAS number that meets the entered digits. After entering the next digit, the cursor stops at the agent that meets the three digits. And so on until you reach the desired agent.
Magnifying glass
Another way of using the text box "Search on CAS-number" is the use of the magnifying glass. Clicking on the magnifying glass, on the right side of this textbox, gives a list of all the substances that comply with the search parameter (filter on basis of the search parameter). Clicking again ("deselecting" this button) on the magnifying glass returns to the previous situation. This feature is the most of use after typing in a set of digit (f.i. "245" gives all substances with "245" anywhere in the CAS-number).
When a substance does not have a CAS-number, the CAS-number field is otherwise used to identity the substance:
- If the substance has an EC-number, but not an CAS-number, the 'pseudo-CAS-number' is: EC#######.
- If the substance has not an CAS-number and not an EC-number, but has an EU Index-number, the 'pseudo-CAS-number' is: ID#######.
- for substances without a CAS number, EC number or EU Index number, the WGM numbers are used, or a different code, depending on the source, such as SVHC ###, DIS ###, AUS ###, CL ###, nano ####.
Searching is done in the same way as described above.
